HARTFORD, Ky. — Louie Edward New, 86, of Hartford, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Western State Nursing Facility. He was born on Nov. 8, 1930, in McCreary County, Ky., to the late Marvin New and Mamie Williams New.
Mr. New retired from Peabody Coal Company and attended Liberty Lighthouse Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Jean Singleton; and brother, Bobby Clifton New.
Survivors include his loving wife, Almeda Chitwood New, of Hartford; one son, Jeffrey New, of Hartford; three daughters, Pam (Todd) Boone, of Owensboro, Ky., Diane Frizzell, of Centertown, Ky., and Crystal (Mike) Fulton, of Beaver Dam, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Rhonda Roberts, LaDonna Fulton, Kyle Frizzell, Joshua Hartwick, Ryan Boone, Mallory Payne, Tyler Phelps, Hunter Phelps, Xena Heflin, Dakota New and Nevaeh New; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Conley New, of Okeechobee, Fla.; and one sister, Greta Spradlin, of Okeechobee.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mary Doepel and Rev. Terry McBeth officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mr. New’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
