BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Anna Jane “Janie” Taylor Phelps, 82, of Beaver Dam, departed this life on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Wellington Parc of Owensboro, Ky. She was born on May 10, 1934, in Cromwell, Ky., to the late Myrl B. and Virginia Elizabeth Sandefur Taylor.
Janie was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and was the lunchroom supervisor at Beaver Dam Elementary School for six years.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Dale Phelps; her sister, Wanda Johnson; and two brothers, Myrl Taylor Jr. and William M. Taylor.
Janie leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Noah Phelps Jr., of Beaver Dam; two sons, Paul K. Phelps and wife, Debbie, of Hartford, Ky., and Noah Brian Scott Phelps, of Beaver Dam; one brother, Paul R. Taylor, of Beaver Dam; and one sister, Carolyn Stewart and husband, Paul, of Griffith, Ind. Mrs. Phelps was blessed with five grandchildren, Nathan Phelps and wife, Jennifer, of Richardson, Texas, Nick Phelps and wife, Lindsay, of Bowling Green, Ky., Jordan Phelps and wife, Dr. Bailey, of Hartford, Tyler Clayton Phelps, of Beaver Dam, and Noah Landon Phelps, of Beaver Dam; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Phelps, of Hartford.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Friends may visit with Mrs. Phelps’ family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
