Donald Edward Wink, 74, of Philpot, Ky., died Oct. 27, 2015, peacefully at home on his farm. He was born on Jan. 6, 1941, to Nicholas Joseph and Sue Helen Keller Wink.
He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 633. He was a farmer and faithful Catholic all his life. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods burgoo cooking team. He taught his children to work hard, to always help others when they had a chance, and to vote with the union. He was a longtime member of the Daviess County Cattle Association.
Edd was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Shirley (J.L) Galloway, Teresa (John) Morrison, and Lawrence Wink; daughter, Jennifer Marie; and grandson, Logan Adams.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 19 years, Kaye; children, Gina (Bill) Swinford, of Frankfort, Ky., Don (Norita) Wink of Sonora, Ky., and Mike (Janette) Wink, of Philpot; stepson, Curtiss (Debbie) Crow, of Ohio County, Ky.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nicholas Joseph, III, and Marvin (Auda); two sisters, Janet (Tommy) Hayden, and Mary Sue (Joe) Elliott, all of Owensboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, Ky. Services are 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville, Ky. Burial is St Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kosair’s Children Hospital.
