Michael J. Alvey, 57, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2015. He was born Aug. 14, 1958, in Hammond, Ind., to Billy Joe Alvey and Martha Carol Smith Alvey.
Michael was a member of Clear Run Baptist Church. He was a Mustang enthusiast, avid Green Bay Packer fan, and a musician.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Lollie Schroader Alvey, of Hartford; two sons, Donny (Jessica) Alvey, of Owensboro, and Daniel Aron Alvey, of Hartford; one daughter, Natalie (Bryan) Buchanan, of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Asa Buchanan, Dylan Alvey, Abby Buchanan and Emma Alvey; one sister, Vicki (Glenn) Bartlett of Owensboro; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky with Rev. Wesley O. Hanson and Bro. Ed Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Tuesday at the funeral home.
