Kathryn S. Nance, 86, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 16, 1929, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Orville Stewart and Lizzie Mae Adkins Stewart.
Mrs. Nance serviced as Ohio County Deputy County Clerk for over 36 years and held many offices within the Ohio County Republican party. She was a life time member of Hartford Baptist Church. Mrs. Nance was a charter member of many quilting clubs as well as other clubs in the county and the Ohio County Auxiliary for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guthrie Nance in 2010; and one brother, William Stewart.
Survivors include one son, Michael “Mike” and daughter-in-law, Karon “Kerry” Nance; one grandson, Jeremy (Jamie) Nance; one granddaughter, Sarah Ann Nance (Adam) Cannon; four great-grandsons, Dereck Nance, Darron Nance and twins, Jaydon and Elye Cannon; nephews, William “Bill” (Mickie) Stewart, and Melvin Stewart, of San Diego, Calif.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Bro. Ed Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Ky. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
