Henry G. Lindsey, 87, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born June 18, 1928, in Ohio County to the late William Lindsey and Sarah Voyles Johnson.
He was a member of Rosine Baptist Church and worked on the drag line at Pyramid Coal Company. Henry spent a lot of time visiting his friends because he loved to talk, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his children, Ruby Pharris Lindsey; his son, Danny Lindsey; his brother, Junior Johnson; his stepfather, Everett Johnson; his great-grandson, Walker Lindsey; and his second wife, Effie Deloris Saling.
Survivors include four daughters, Henrietta (Wayne) Renfrow, of Cromwell, Deborah “Chigger” (Wayne) Stewart, of Rosine, Vickie (Bud) Sapp, of Beaver Dam, and Leisa (Roger) Blacklock, of Beaver Dam; one brother, James Johnson, of Beaver Dam; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Terry Tarrance officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
