Louise “Mac” Medcalf, 95, of Owensboro, Ky., died Sept. 13, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born April 1, 1920, in Ohio County, Ky., the daughter of the late Frank and Mollie McKinley.
She was a member of Third Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She retired as payroll supervisor for Modern Welding Company after 41 years of employment. Louise lived a faith-filled life with the Lord. She served at Third Baptist Church, which she loved, tirelessly and faithfully for Him through the children’s ministry, the community meal, as greater at the atrium desk, and ambassador servant prayer warrior. She was a member of the Woman of Faith Prayer Group for over 16 years and inspired and loved those women dearly. She was an avid fan of KWC basketball and rode on the Panther Express for many years.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a nephew, Earl Gene McKinley.
She is survived by a nephew, Larry McKinley; two great-nephews, Keith McKinley (Fara) and Aaron McKinley; and two great-great-nieces, Gabrielle and Alexandra McKinley.
Louise had a special family relationship with Rob and Loretta Schell and their sons, Mitchell and William. She was their “Granny Aleeze” and they were her boys and the loves of her life. She also had a close relationship with her sister Trudy’s niece and nephew, Deloris and Terry Kindred and had a special appreciation for their helpful, loving spirits.
Services are 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Third Baptist Church in Owensboro. Burial is in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Third Baptist Church.
