Ms. Nell M. Butler, age 93, went home to be with her heavenly father on Sept. 11, 2015, in Owensboro, she was born on March 22, 1922, in Ohio County to the late William and Bessie (Carpenter) Burton.
Nell worked and retired from Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Mich., Nell enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved her flowers that her family would plant for her. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Burton; two sisters, Evelyn Heppler, and Lula Bell Boling.
Nell is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Blankenship, of Owensboro; two sons, William (Jane) York, Jerry Lee (Kathy) York, Sr., both of Smyrna, Tenn.; grandchildren, Terri Guteriez, Kay Everett, Roy Blankenship, Mary Wilson, Ray Blankenship, Jennifer McKnight, Lisa Wilhelm, Marsha Mackie, Jerry Lee York, Jr.; also, 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Private service by the family will be held at a later date.
