HelenFrancesWaddellHelen Frances (Jackson) Waddell, 93, of Owensboro, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2015, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Maynard and Elsie (Scott) Jackson.

She worked for General Electric Company and Olan Mills Studios until she retired. She attended Owensboro Christian Church. She loved working in her yard and with her flowers and adored family and friends.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Ellis Patton, Maxwell Powers and E.A. “Bud” Waddell, the love of her life; a son, William Patton; and three brothers, Alton Embry, Johnnie Jackson and Leo Jackson.

She is survived by her children, Larry Patton, of Beaver Dam, Ky., and Patty Phillips (Roger), of Owensboro; five stepchildren, Chris Waddell, of Texas, Star Stahl (Marty), of Bowling Green, and Beth Waddell, Michael Waddell, and Missy Liles, all of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren, Larry Patton (Kristen), Shelly Bateman (Michael), Michael Webb (Ashley), Christa Peachee (Preston), Alvin Phillips (Kayla), Justin Waddell (Emily), A.J. Stahl, Jeremy Waddell, Cody Liles, Kristianna Waddell, Aaron Damme, Kaylee Liles, Logan Waddell and Luke Waddell; a brother, Maynard Jackson of Huntingburg, Ind.; a sister, Nancy Johnson, of Jacksonville, Fla., and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at Owensboro Christian Church. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
