Thelma Bishop Everly, 91, died on Sept. 2, 2015, in Columbia, Md. She was born on June 24, 1924, in Centertown, Ky., and was the daughter of Lester and Corinne Bishop.
For 62 years, Thelma was the beloved wife of Thurston Ray Everly who predeceased her in 2012. Her first husband, Leonard L. Moore, died in 1948.
Thelma and Thurston were happiest when they were together and their retirement was devoted to traveling all over the United States and Canada in their motor home and spending time on their houseboat on Lake Cumberland. Thelma was a wonderful mother to her daughters who adored her and cherish her memory. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by Jacqueline Warren, of Southampton, N.Y., and Litchfield, Conn.; Sheila and husband. Carl L. Highgenboten MD, of La Quinta, Calif.; Rita and husband, Martin Newman, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Carrie Everly, of Ellicott City, Md.
A graveside service will be held at Centertown Cemetery, in Centertown, Ky., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5. Bevil Brothers Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
