Robert Louis Jones, 75, of Hartford, Ky., died Aug. 20, 2015, at his home. He was born July 30, 1940, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., to the late Myrtle and R.B. Jones.
He retired from Pinkerton Tobacco Company, was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a drag racer and mechanic and enjoyed antique cars, and playing cards, corn hole and pool.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon R. Jones (Billy), Sandra Lee Steward, and Donna Smiley (Charlie); two sons, Robert Lee Jones (Stacey) and Gilbert Ray Jones; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Jessie Jones; his companion, Jo Ann Hinton; and ex-wife, Lois F. Jones.
Services are 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, Ky. Burial is in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
