Dorothy Jean Whitler, 63, of Centertown, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at her residence. She was born in Ohio County to the late Thomas Quentin and Ora Lee Young Duncan.
She was a member of Centertown Tabernacle and she was retired from Perdue.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dale Whitler; one daughter, Melissa Whitler; four sisters, Rosa May York, Louise Duncan, Mageline Duncan, and Elwanda Whitler, and three brothers, Jerry Duncan, Rex Duncan, and James Duncan.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Dean (Tinette) Whitler, of Centertown; Dolly (Charles) Minton, of Madisonville, Vickie Whitler, Belinda (Dennis) Manning, Christi Whitler, all of Centertown; one brother, Ernie Duncan, of Leitchfield; and two sisters, Mary Jo Crawford and Alice Willoughby, both of Leitchfield. Dorothy was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Michael, Russell, Robie, Cody, Tripp, Chris, Josh, Sarah, Caleb, Melissa, Aiden, and Bryson; and two great-grandchildren, Willow and Cobi.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Ohio County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
