Willie Fulkerson, 65, of Island, Ky., died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at his home in Island. William Edward Fulkerson was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Owensboro, Ky., to the late Harold Eugene and Virginia Eva Gilmore Fulkerson and was married to the former Katrina Ann Everly on Feb. 21, 1980.
Willie was an auto body repairman for Wester Body Shop in Powderly and attended the Livermore General Baptist Church. He was a member of the Island Lodge #743 F.&A.M. and enjoyed NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Bridget Cobb.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Katrina Fulkerson; a son, Jeff Fulkerson and wife, Sabrena, of Calhoun; a stepdaughter, Tina Chambers, of Island; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane Humphrey, of Hartford, and Carol Bolton, of Island.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Richland Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Clive Bell officiating. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Willie’s family.
The Willie Fulkerson family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Buttonsberry Baptist Church; 6342 Kentucky 85 East; Island, KY 42350. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
