Jerry Render, 76, of Centertown, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, at his home. Jerry was born on Nov. 14, 1938, in Centertown, son of the late Arnold and Pauline Ashby Render.
Jerry was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church, served as a Petty Officer 3rd in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Centertown High School.
Jerry was a farrier for 40 years, mostly in middle Tennessee. He was very well-known there where he shod 37 World Grand Champion Tennessee walking horses. Jerry also bred spotted saddle horses for 30 years. One of his horses won the 4 year-old class and the aged stallion class in the same night.
He was preceded in death by his sister Arnell Hines and brother Bob Render.
Survivors include his wife Anna L. Render, two sons, Robert Render, of Glasgow, and Todd Render, of Orlando, Fla., three brothers, Randy and Eddie Render, of Centertown, and Nick Render, of Hartford.
Burial will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Waltons Creek Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friends are welcome.
