Everett Eugene ‘Tooter’ Moore

EverettMooreEverett Eugene “Tooter” Moore, 81, of Horse Branch, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born June 20, 1934, in McHenry to the late Thomas “Big Tom” and Effie Trail Moore.

He was a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and was a member of Sugar Grove Church of Christ.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Russell Daugherty; two brothers, Stanley Moore, Charles Capp Moore; and two sisters, Margaret Hull and Ruth Eury.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Monia Jean Johnson Moore, of Horse Branch; two sons, Douglas (Shelley) Daugherty, of Horse Branch, and Dennis (Marlene Decker) Moore, of Grandview, Ind.; two daughters, Cathy West, of Beaver Dam, and Alicia (Rick) Daugherty, of Horse Branch; one daughter-in-law, Carma Daugherty, of Morgantown, Everett was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Roy Daugherty, Jody Cardwell, Lafonda (Lee) Hiner, Donnittia (Randy) Beasley, Georgina (Ben) Midkiff, Eddie (Bekah Jo) Cardwell, Jessica (Ken) Decker, Amanda (Josh) Wright, Everett West, Dennis Moore, Jr., Crystal Daugherty, Donna (Nathan) Murch, Nathaniel (LaKayah) Daugherty, and LaTasha Daugherty and 25 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Joe Van Roberts and Danny Tarrance officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Horse Branch. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
