ScottBurdenWaynesville, N.C. — Scott Burden, 51, of the Bethel Community, passed away on June 13, 2015, at his residence. 

He is the son of the late Geraldine Burden and his maternal grandparents.

Scott was a strong Christian man who never met a stranger. He had a “green thumb”, always growing flowers and plants. He was a big animal lover, especially his dog Uno and Macaw Alexis. He spent his time cheering for Dale Earnhardt and “tinkering” with items around the home.

Scott is survived by his wife of 24 years, Wanda Summers Burden; son, Kyle (Kadi) Burden, of Bowling Green, Ky.; stepdaughter, Tracy (Josh) Vincent, of Smithville, Tenn.; stepson Rodney (Tara) McMillin, of Morgantown, Ky.; brother, Paul (Debbie) Burden, of Morgantown; two sisters, Sandy (Trendity) Lane, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Sara Burden, of Owensboro, Ky., and father, Kenneth Burden, of Owensboro. He is also survived by his five grandchildren; Dakoda, Destiny, Leevi, Lawsen and Josh; and close friends, Bubby Phelps, Mark Storm and Preacher Hughes. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday June, 19, at J.C. Kirby Funeral Home Broadway in Bowling Green, Ky., with Brother Wade Martin Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at J.C. Kirby Funeral Home with burial to follow at Friendship Cemetery in Auburn, Ky.
