John W. Bassett, 61, of Hartford, died Wednesday May 20, 2015, at his home. John was born in Madisonville, Kentucky to the late John W. and Lillian Finley Bassett.
John was a self-employed dog trainer.
John was also preceded in death by a sister, Bell Bassett Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Caple Bassett; two brothers, Lonnie (Kristi) Bassett, of Henderson, Ky., and Seth Bassett, of Newburg, Ind.; four sisters, Lillian Bassett, of Louisville, Ky.,, Ruth (Dwayne) Buchanan, of Henderson, Ky., Susan Bassett, of Somerset, Ky., and Betsy (Jim) Horlock, of St. Charles, Ill.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.(CST) Monday, June 1, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with John Cashion officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, May 31, and from 9 a.m.(CST) until funeral time on Monday.
