Edward L. Geary, 86, of Newburg, died Monday May 18, 2015, at Cypress Grove Rehab Center in Newburg, Ind. He was born in Grayson County, Ky., to the late Henry and Mada Berkley Geary.
Mr. Geary retired from Whirlpool in Evansville where he worked in the machine shop, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict having the rank of Sgt. 1st Class he received two bronze stars and a purple heart.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtnee Wilson (2014).
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Patterson Geary, of Newburg, Ind.; a son, Robin Geary, of Olaton, Ky.; a brother, Elmer Geary, of Yeamen, Ky.; one granddaughter, Erin Geary; and two great-grandsons, Bryson and Payton Wilson.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam conducted by Bro. Vernon Veteto. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, KY. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Thursday at the funeral home.
