Roscoe “Sonny” Simpson, 77, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born April 17, 1938, in McHenry to the late Roscoe Simpson, Sr., and Margaret Fulkerson Dowell.
He was a foreman for the City of Beaver Dam.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Freda Simpson, Linda Carden, Violet Lutz and Karen Stevens.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Simpson, of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Carol Denise (James) Lindsay, of Beaver Dam, and Patricia Gale (Michael) Mayes, of Beechcreek; five brothers, Charles (Diana) Simpson, of Beaver Dam, John Dowell, of Utica, Rodney Dowell, of Paris, Tenn., Tommy (Nancy) Ball, of Reynolds Station, and Randall Ball, of Beaver Dam; four sisters, Dolly Burton, of Phoenix, Ariz., Ernie Dowell, of Utica, Ann Simpson, of McHenry, and Chris (Mickey) Ross, of McHenry; five grandchildren, Heather Lindsay, Michael (Alissa) Mayes, Jr., Samantha Mayes, Chris Mayes and Miranda Lindsay and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Mayes, Aiden Mayes and Nevaeh Edwards.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 15, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jerry Toler and Bro. Robert Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
