Myrtle Welch Thompson Embry, 98, Hartford, Ky., passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015, at her residence. She was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Hartford, to the late Richard B. Welch and Nancy Daugherty Welch.
Mrs. Embry was a homemaker, member of Hartford Christian Church and was very active visiting her friends and enjoyed bowling.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy T. Thompson; second husband, Bert R. Embry; two brothers, James Welch and Robert Allen Welch; three sisters, Marietta Troutman, Francis Ratliff and Anna Pearl Lamb.
Survivor includes one stepdaughter, Dorothy Faye Embry, of Morgantown, Ky.; three stepgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and caregiver, Jennifer Turner, of Hartford.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Bro. Mike Erwin and Bro. Mikey Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Utica Cemetery in Utica, Ky. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
