Oles Jewell Haven, 102, of Cromwell, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1913, in Cromwell to the late Clarence and Ella Pirtle Haven.
Oles was a member of Green River Baptist Church and was a farmer. He loved fishing and was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Belle Haven; one daughter, Lula Burden; and one grandson, Eric Russell Burden.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Drake, of Cromwell, and Linda (Larry) Chinn, of Cromwell; his son-in-law, Bill Burden, of Beaver Dam; one brother, Roy (Mary) Haven, of Beaver Dam; one sister, Melbaline Berry, of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Connie Ann (James) Tooley, Kristina Lynn (Stuart) Martin, Jeff (Treva) Chinn, Steven (Jennifer) Fulton, Robert (Melissa) Drake, Rhonda (Bryan) Leach and Scott Drake. Oles was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Kelley Harris and Bro. Troy Richards officiating. Burial will be in Green River Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
