William C. ‘Bill’ Richeson

WilliamRichesonWilliam C. “Bill” Richeson, 84, of Owensboro, Ky., died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late John R. and Earlie Mae Richeson.

He worked for Renfrow Lumber Company and retired from Lanham Brothers General Contractors. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, from April 1951 to March 1953. He loved to hunt and fish and loved to watch and attend Nascar races and U.K. basketball games.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Richeson; a brother, Donald Ray Richeson; a stepson, James E. Norris; and sisters, Anna Bell Renfrow, Betty Henderson, Lethal Leach, Louise Leach and Margaret Baize.

He is survived by his wife, Guyneth Mercer Richeson; daughter, Shelia Lindsey (Marty); stepdaughter, Linda Moore (Jackie); grandchildren, Cassie Lindsey and Tara Clark; eight stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hilton Richeson, J.R. Richeson and Marion Richeson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County, Kentucky. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
