William Kenneth Slater, 73 of Owensboro, passed away on March 16, 2015, at his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1942. He was retired from RiverValley Behavioral Health in maintenance.
He was a member of The Eagles #4168. He enjoyed fishing, watching his westerns, drinking a cold Milwaukee’s Best and loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Slater, 2013; his mother, Mary Sue Payne; his daughter, Karen Marie Slater, 2011; Paw, Jess Payne; and Maw, Lottie Payne.
Surviving are his children, Katie Blandford (James), and Gina Slater; grandchildren, Amy Martin, Amber Dowell and Matthew Slater; six great-grandchildren;
his brothers, David (Kelly) King, Ted (Cheryl) King, Stewart Payne, Bruce (Tami) King; and his sisters, Barbara (Johnny) Collignon, Bonnie Towery, Dorothy Fulton, Louise Johnson and Shelby Webster.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home.
Visitation at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
