Naomi S. Harkins, 83, of Owensboro, formerly of Hartford, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 17, at Wellington Parc of Owensboro. She was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Baton Rouge, La., to the late William Elzie Sanson and Mable Marchman Sanson.
Mrs. Harkins was a homemaker, member of Hartford Baptist Church and a former member of Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by one brother, J.T. Sanson; and one sister, Stella Mae Sanson.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Douglas “Doug” Harkins, of Owensboro; one son, Keith Harkins, of White Lake, Mich.; one daughter, Dr. Gay Baughman (David), of Louisville, Ky.; and one grandson, Joshua David “Josh” Baughman of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Bro. Ed Mitchell and Rev. Wesley O. Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday for 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
