James Arnold Edge, 83, of Reynolds Station, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by family.
He was a farmer, oil field worker and was retired from Labor Local #1392. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Fordsville Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Georgie Richards Edge; brothers, George William, Ernest Everett, Lawrence, Hubert and Jack; a sister, Emogene Rearden; and an infant grandson, James Eric Edge.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Willya Ann “Billie” Hatfield Edge; two sons, James Rodney “Jimmy” Edge and Ronnie Joe (LaDonna) Edge; a daughter, Barbara Ann Johnson; grandchildren, Dana Edge (Brad), Jamie Edge (Brent), Justin Edge (Stephanie),Derek Edge (Wendy), Nicholas Johnson (April), Dustin Johnson (Stephine) and Karrie (Adam) Smith; great-grandchildren, Tennyson Elder, Kylie, Avery, Landon, Bo and Natalie Johnson, Alexis Miller, Peyton and Braylon Smith, Hunter and Madison Devine, Jaxon and Jacey Richardson, Austin and Clayton Thompson and Lacey Bruce; three brothers, Homer (Vivian) Edge, Denzil (Sharon) Edge and Irvin (Peggy) Edge; two sisters, Mary (Kenny) Smith and Margaret (Johnny) Jarboe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville with burial in Boling Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
