Zachary Eric Basham, 12, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. He was born April 19, 2002, in Owensboro to Christopher Lee Basham and Mary V. Leach Huff.
He was a sixth grader at Burns Middle School and he attended River City Church in Owensboro. He loved music, art, reading, playing chess, playing Yu-Gi-Oh with his brother and telling jokes. He was a friend to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Wayne Leach; his grandmother, Susan Cooper Hayden; and two great-grandfathers, James E.S. Leach and Richard W. Voland.
Survivors include his parents, Mary Huff, of Owensboro, Christopher (Brittney) Basham, of Cromwell; one brother, Timothy James “T.J.” Basham, of Cromwell; one sister, Andria Marie Basham, of Cromwell; his grandmother, Marjorie Tamblyn, of Bull Skin, Pa.; his grandfather, William D. Basham, of Cromwell; and three great-grandmothers, Mary Jane Leach, of Hartford, Mary I. Voland, of Morgantown, Ind., and Gladys Keslar, of Donegal, Pa., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
