C.J. Kessinger, 84, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at The Heartford House in Owensboro. He was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Ohio County to the late William S. and Virdie C. Embry Kessinger.
He served as a deacon at Slaty Creek Baptist Church, was a member of the McHenry Masonic Lodge #800 F&AM and he worked as a Foreman/Equipment Operator for the State Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virdie Kessinger, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Francis Chinn Kessinger, of Beaver Dam; three sons, Gary J. (Linda) Kessinger, of Beaver Dam, Kevin C. (Susie) Kessinger, of Beaver Dam and Ellis Eric (Holly) Kessinger, of Beaver Dam, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mike Daugherty officiating. Burial will be in Slaty Creek Cemetery near Prentiss. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic Rites service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contribution to Hospice of Western Kentucky- The Heartford House in Owensboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
