Willard “Bill” R. Seaton

Willard “Bill” R. Seaton, 82, of Elberfeld, Indiana passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 peacefully in the comfort of his own home on the morning after a short illness.

Born and raised in Fordsville, Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was blessed with three children during his first marriage, two of whom survive him. His second marriage moved him to Elberfeld and blessed him with two additional children and a grandchild he raised as his own.

Bill managed the old local Shell Station in Elberfeld from about 1965 to 1968, then opened Seaton’s Garage soon after. He was owner and operator until his retirement in 1994. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved working on his family’s land in Kentucky. He enjoyed gardening, boxing, beating his grandchildren in checker games and especially his best pal and dog, Ginger.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Willard Jr.; his granddaughters, Samantha and Tonya; and his wife of 51 years, Lois.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Linda Nottoli, of St. Louis, Mo., Kathy (Wayne Sr.) Hartmann, of Evansville, Ind., and Terry (Bob) Rhodes. of Cordova, Tenn.; a son, Ricky (Sheila) Lord, of Evansville; and his grandson, John (Jessica) Lord, of Elberfeld. Other surviving family members include his sister, Effie Roach; grandchildren, Carol, Derek, Elizabeth, Richard, Angela, Wayne Jr. and Chris; great-grandchildren, Martha, Kayla, Michael, Robby, Miranda, JJ, Destiny, Adam, Jr., Alex and Alexus; a great-great-grandchild, Landon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville with burial in Beatty Cemetery in Fordsville. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
