Tom “TJ” Juvrud, 63, of Cromwell, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at his residence. He was born Oct. 2, 1951, in Newark, N.J., to the late Merlin and Helen Motes Juvrud.
He was a member of Oak Grove Church of God where he served as lead musician, church and pastor council member, a minister of the gospel, Sunday school teacher, and sound technician. He was founder and lead vocalist of Last Day Revivals Ministries. He retired from Bobby Roberts Automotive, Inc., where he had worked for 40 years.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Kim Bice.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Reba Fulton Juvrud, of Cromwell; two sons, Steve (Sharon) Kimbley, of Hartford, and Wayne Kimbley, of Cromwell; one daughter, Theresa (Ben) Barks, of Morgantown, Ky.; one brother, Donald (Phyllis) Bice, of Pharr, Texas; two sisters, Patrica (John) Whitney and Jennifer (Fred) Gipe, both of Pharr, Texas. TJ was blessed with five grandchildren, Stevie (Adam) Hardin, Noel Bilbro, Megan Barks, Dylan Kimbley and Blake Barks; and three great-grandchildren, Karter Smiley, Hadley Hardin, and Bryer Hardin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Oak Grove Church of God, 10358 St. Rte. 505 South Cromwell, with Rev. Steve Leach and Rev. Bobby Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Cromwell. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Church of God and Sunday 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the church also.
