IraCamp1Ira Glenn Camp, 72, of McHenry, went to heaven to be with God. He passed away at his home on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. He was born on Aug. 29, 1942, in McHenry to the late Ira and Corene Camp.

He attended the McHenry Church of God of Prophecy and worked at Peabody Coal Mines for 27 years. He was a strong UMWA Union Member. Ira enjoyed raising two vegetable gardens every year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Corene Camp, and his sister, Ethel Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Margie Camp of McHenry; two daughters, Donna (Scott) Maiden, of Beaver Dam, and Cheryl (David) McCallister, of McHenry; two grandsons, Daniel (Kayla) Maiden, of Beaver Dam, and Shaun Maiden, of McHenry; two sisters, Geraldine Southard, of McHenry, and Anna Margaret Leach, of Beaver Dam, and his little pride and precious joy, Katie, his poodle.

IraCamp2Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Wesley Phelps Honor Guard.
