Melvin J. Beasley, 64 of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at his residence. Melvin was born Sept. 26, 1950, in Butler County, Ky., to the late Raymond and Lonie Burden Beasley.
He was a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church, retired coon hunter and an avid UK basketball fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry and Jeff Beasley.
Melvin J. Beasley is survived by his wife, Brenda Frank Beasley, of Morgantown, Ky.; two sons, Randy Beasley, wife Donnitta, of Morgantown, and Dustin Beasley, wife Hannah, of Woodbury, Ky.; one daughter, Alecia Lucas, husband Adam, of Caneyville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Kailie and Emily Beasley, Liam Beasley and Luci Lucas; three sisters, Nina Mason, husband Donald, of Morgantown, Kaye Givens, husband Timmy, of Quality, Ky., and Rita Jenkins, husband Mike, of Quality; four brothers, Larry Beasley, wife Peggy, of Horse Branch, Ky., Roger Beasley, of Morgantown, Jimmy Beasley, wife Becky, of Morgantown, and Kenny Beasley, wife Tammy, of Morgantown, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Randy Beasley and Bro. Jon Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation Monday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
