Douglas Junior “Moon Dog” Witt, Sr., 72, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at his residence. He was born Aug. 3, 1942. He was a charter member of Barbarossa Motorcycle Club and a retired truck driver.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas Junior “Son” Witt, Jr., and David Joseph “Bug” Witt, and one grandson, Donnie Witt.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kathleen Simmons Witt, of Hartford; one daughter, Deborah J. Dickerson, of Hartford; three grandchildren, Chessa (Daniel) Blacklock, Douglas Witt, III, Joey Witt, Josh Witt, and Destiny Witt, and five great-grandchildren, Daniel Blacklock, Peyton Blacklock, Kayla Blacklock, Kaiser Witt, and Brooklyn Hedges.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Lonnie “Heavy” Hatfield officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
