Loma Linda Brown Tanner, 84, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2014, on the Palliative Care Unit at Baptist East Health with her family by her side. Born on July 22, 1930, in Centertown, Ky. she was the daughter of the late Arlie Hobson and Rosalie Phillips Brown.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and doctors who took such wonderful care of Loma.
Even though she suffered with constant pain, Loma always had a smile on her face and a positive word to share. She was such a blessing to be around. Loma, we will miss you forever.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Darrin Lee Tanner; sisters, Athel Brown Chilton, Rhoda Brown Sullivan, Zelma Brown Heflin, and Patsy Brown Mueller; brothers Reathel W. Brown, Rodney D. Brown, Reno Lee Brown, and Osney Franklin Brown; and many loved ones and dear friends.
Loma is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert Lee Tanner; daughter, Lisa Tanner Weeks; and her husband John; precious granddaughter Katlin Danae Weeks, all of Lousville; brother Aaron Levi “Bake” (Helen) Brown of Highland Ind.; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and will be officiated by Rev. Bryant Heflin. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday.
For friends and family in Louisville, a Celebration of Life Service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at West Broadway Baptist Church.
