Barry G. “Bear Cat” Griffin, 70, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at his home. He was born Oct. 28, 1943, in McHenry.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilda Mae Griffin.
Bear Cat was a millwright and worked out of Millwright Union Local 1080 in Owensboro. He loved to travel and boating on Green River.
Survivors include one daughter, Sonya Schroader (Neal), of Hartford; three sons, Barry Griffin (Tina), Larry Griffin (Denise), of McHenry, and Terry Griffin (Carla), of Hartford; grandchildren, Jarrod and Jonathan Schroader, Kaley, Kelsey, Michael, Mallory, Derrick, Jacob, Taylor and Sam Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Adalyn Schroader and Harper Griffin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 1, a 1 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry.
Friends may visit with the family Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
