Willis Glen Blacklock, 82, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his residence. He was born on Oct. 13, 1931, in Cromwell, Ky., to the late Alva Lee and Ida Myrtle Day Blacklock, Sr.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of Green River Baptist Church in Cromwell, and a retired Carpenter. Glen enjoyed making sorghum and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Avery Blacklock, Alva Blacklock, Jr., and Ivan Blacklock and three sisters, Flossie Hines, Eula Hunter, and Christine Blacklock
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Anna Mae Burden Blacklock of Beaver Dam; one son, Michael (Fran) Blacklock of Cromwell; one daughter, Marsha Drake of Lexington, and one sister, Alice Deane Bryant of Beaver Dam. Glen was blessed with five grandchildren, Micaiah (Ben) Ballard, Jared Blacklock, Joey (Sarah) Blacklock, Evan Drake, and Michaela Drake, and three great grandchildren, Elijah Glen Blacklock, Briar Cole Blacklock, and Ryder Cane Blacklock.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Bro. Kelley Harris officiating. Burial will be in Green River Cemetery near Cromwell with military honors provided by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
