Arthur L. ‘Todd’ King

ArthurLeeKingArthur L. “Todd” King, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Heartford House. He was born in Ohio County to the late Rufus and Rosa King.

Todd was raised in Ohio County and attended Bell’s Run Baptist Church. Mr. King was a World War II veteran. He served the U.S. Army in Japan, Europe and Africa. He retired from Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Prior to this, Todd farmed for seventeen years. In his early years he worked at Inland Steel in Gary, Ind.

Todd enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Bonnie Lou King; brothers, Renzie and Albert King; and a sister, Mary Ellen Helm.

Todd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith D. King; daughters, Connie S. Carter and Donna C. Higdon (Tom); grandchildren, Kevin Anderson and Kelly Anderson; great grandchildren, Joshua Hardison and Aiden John Ballew, all of Owensboro; three nieces and three nephews.The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Brother Gabe Laymon will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM and on Saturday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky 3419 Wathen’s Crossing Owensboro, KY 42301.
