Scarlett M. Barrett Southworth

ScarlettSouthworthScarlett M. Barrett Southworth, 44, wife of Randy Southworth, died Sun. May 11, 2014, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born March 25, 1970, in Beaver Dam, Ky., she was the daughter of Kenneth and Paulette Allen Barrett of Versailles, Ky.

Scarlett was a 1988 graduate of Tates Creek High School and a 1992 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She was a homemaker and attended St. Luke United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy in life was being mother to her two sons. She was an enthusiastic volunteer at school, church, scouts, and a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons, James Allen Southworth and Joseph Ray Southworth, both of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Thad (Sonya) Barrett; and a sister, Dawn (Russell) Murphy; brother-in-law, Steve Trimble; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joe and Jenny Southworth; sister-in-law, Tammi (Dale) Woolums; three nephews, Jonathan, Matthew and Samuel; and two nieces, Abigail and Jenna.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Jesse Baldridge. Visitation will begin 4 p.m. Friday until the service time.
