Paul Lynn Whittaker, 65, of Pleasant Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born April 1, 1949, to the late Anzel Lake and Velma Lucille Bartlett Whittaker.
He was a member of the Bells Run Baptist Church, was a retired farmer and auto mechanic.
Paul was a fan of UK basketball and NASCAR, he was an avid Chevy man. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening and putting out flowers. Paul was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp, the U.S. Army and the National Guard.
Paul enjoyed the visits he received from his many friends and family on a daily basis before and during his illness.
He was dearly loved and will be missed by his wife of 23 years Mary Renfrow Whittaker. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Whittaker(Brian Harris) of Owensboro and Anzela Escobar (Sean) of New Mexico; one brother, David Whittaker of Hartford; two sisters Rachel Sebok and Alice Whittaker of Owensboro, seven grandchildren, Cody Hester, Searra Hester, Kelsea Hester, Dawson Whittaker, Branlyne Harris all of Owensboro, Tyler Escobar, Destiny Escobar of New Mexico and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will follow in Bells Run Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
