DrDanielStewartDr. Daniel M. Stewart, 37, formerly of Centertown, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his home in Denton, Texas. Daniel was born in Royal Oak, Mich., and was the youngest of Glenn and Rita Stewart.

Daniel was a Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of North Texas-Denton. He graduated from Ohio County High School, served in the United States Air Force from 1994-1998, graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan-Magna Cum Laude, received his Masters Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his PhD from Sam Houston State University and he was of the Methodist faith.  Daniel enjoyed life to the fullest.  He dearly loved his family and his dog Igby.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his mother and father, Rita and Glenn Stewart of Centertown; three brothers, Tristam (Kris) Stewart of Boston, Mass., Matthew (Lori) Stewart of Lilburn, Ga., Joel Stewart of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Joyce Stewart (Dean) Miller of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Diana Stewart (Jack) Haugk of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; nieces and nephews. Austin, Amelia and Noah Miller, Julia and Dallen Stewart, Brad Haugk and family, David Haugk and family and grandmother, Anna R. Cessna.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam conducted by Bro. Rob Stout. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the following: PFS Foundation (Post-Finasteride Syndrome), Heifer International or ASPCA.
