Nancy Jane Willis, 85, of 1009 Standish Place South; Owensboro, Ky.; formerly of Island, Ky., died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at her home. Nancy Jane Ford was born April 14, 1928, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., to the late Ellis Robert and Mollie Leona Hygers Ford and was married to Elvis Lee Willis on Dec. 17, 1946.
Nancy retired as office manager from Willis Enterprises of Island and was a member of Island United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed cooking, and spending time with both her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Elvis Willis, who died Aug. 28, 2006; a son, Tommy Vaught; a grandson, Steve Willis; and by a granddaughter, Misty Clary.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Danny and Janet Willis of Owensboro and Ralph and Peggy Willis of Utica; a daughter and her husband, Janie and Bobby Sharp of Hartford; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Vaught of Browder; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Bowers of Beech Creek.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel, with the Rev. Tony St.Clair officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Nancy’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at Musters in Livermore.
