Jerry McCaney, 66, of Beaver Dam, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at his residence. He was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Knox County, Ky., to the late Francis and Annie Maude Lawson McCaney.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart, he was of Catholic Faith, and a retired maintenance supervisor.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis McCaney and Paul McCaney and one sister, Opal Marlow.
Survivors include one son, Jerrod Matthew McCaney of Beaver Dam; four daughters, Lisa McCaney Arnold of Beaver Dam, Kimberly McCaney Hawes of Fordsville, April (Jason) Spencer of Cromwell, and Barbara (Robert) Hart of Mt. Sherman, Ky.; one brother, Pete Gray of East Bernstadt, Ky., and two sisters, Helen Feltner of East Bernstadt, Ky., and Alma Kidd of Lexington. Jerry was blessed with six grandchildren, Zach Spencer, Hunter Spencer, and Eli Spencer, Christian Arnold, Shawn Arnold, and Alex Baird and one great-grandchild, Naomi Marie Spencer.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. William L. Danks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
