Frances F. Newcom, 71, of Bowling Green, Ky., formerly of Hartford, Ky., passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at Christian Healthcare Center in Bowling Green. She was born Oct. 6, 1942, in Robbinsville, N.C., to the late Otis Lee Phillips and Mae Stratton Phillips.
Mrs. Newcom was a homemaker and a member of Light House Church of God in Hartford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Newcom, on Dec. 9, 2003; one sister, Hazel Driver, and two brothers, J.B. Phillips and Ronnie Phillips.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney Rogers (Cathy) of Bowling Green and Tracy Rogers (Laura) of Morgantown, Ky.; two daughters, Tammy Frizzell (Kevin) of Utica, Ky., and Jackie Smith (Tim) of Alvaton, Ky.; one brother, Richard Phillips (Caryn) of Hartford and their daughter, Kendra Radcliff, and nine grandchildren, Travis Frizzell (Jessie), Erica Wood (Nick), Seth Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Chanley Rogers, Blaire Heck, Braxton Smith, Brayden Smith and Beckett Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Rev. Ernie Carmicle officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Ky.
