David Lee Davis, 64, of Beaver Dam passed away Wednesday Feb. 19, 2014, surrounded by his family in Hazel Green, Ala. He was born in Michigan to the late Winfred Lee and Eunice Taylor Davis.
David was a coal miner at Patriot Coal Company, was of the Baptist faith and attended Place of Hope Church, he also enjoyed racing at Central Park Raceway.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Rupert and Zilpha Davis; a brother Rommie Davis and a sister, Lynn Davis.
Survivors include his wife Rose Mary Davis; a son, John (Amber) Davis of Hazel Green, Ala.; one brother, Bobby (China) Davis of Louisville; three sisters, Sue Kustus of Louisville, Jan Davis of Bowling Green and Renae Davis of Louisville; two grandchildren, Devin and Ella Rose Davis.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Echols Cemetery near Rockport. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday at the funeral home.
