Sharon Kay Sapp, 61, of Bowling Green, formerly of Ohio County, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. She was born July 28, 1952, in Ohio County, Ky., to Lonnie and Clarice L. Ferguson Felty. She was a member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church and she attended Living Hope Church in Bowling Green.
She was an elementary school teacher for the Ohio County Board of Education as well as an education consultant for Western Kentucky and eventually retired from the State of Tennessee Education Department. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of the Hosta Society. She loved spending time with her family and friends, photography, gardening and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Felty.
Survivors include her mother, Clarice L. Felty of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Teresa (Bobby) Barrow of Lewisburg and Joyce A. Taylor of Morgantown; five nieces, Kara Taylor of Bowling Green, Rebecca (Tim) McKeown of Beaver Dam, Alyssa (John) O’Driscoll of Randolph, Mass., Ashton Barrow of Bowling Green and Bethany Barrow of Lewisburg; one nephew, Brett Barrow of Lewisburg and two great-nieces, Kylie Johnson and Avery Johnson both of Beaver Dam.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Gary Hines officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
