Ida Mae Shown Ward Magan, 100, of Hartford, KY passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Professional Care Health & Rehab Center in Hartford. She was born May 27, 1913, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Herbert Bruce Shown and Mary Bell Bennett Shown.
Mrs. Magan was a clerk at Grandma’s Favorites Children Store in Beaver Dam, Ky., and was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilson M. Ward on Jan. 6, 1979; her second husband, James Stanley Magan on Oct. 13, 2007; one son, McDonald Bruce Ward on April 17, 1995, and one daughter, Mary W. Minton on March 6, 2008.
Survivors include one grandson, Michael W. Minton (Mary Essaili) of Louisville, Ky.; four great-grandsons, Matthew W. Minton, Mason A. Minton, James Michael Minton and Aiden Ramy Minton all of Louisville, Ky., and a son-in-law, John Minton of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, KY with Rev. Harry B. Spurrier officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Beulah Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Hartford, Ky.
