M.D. Raymer, 79, of Caneyville, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. He was born on Feb. 22, 1934, in Grayson County, the son of the late Noah and Flossie (White) Raymer.
M.D. was retired from Ford Motor Company and also a farmer. He was a member of the New Assembly Church in Hartford. M.D. was a veteran of the United States Army.
Other than his parents, M.D. was preceded in death by his son, Terry Raymer; one brother, Edward Raymer and one sister, Shirley Haynes.
M.D. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margalene Raymer; their two sons, David and his wife Anne and Barry and his wife Linda all of Caneyville; two grandchildren, Chip Raymer (Mandy) of Caneyville and Cortney Sanders (Micha) of Leitchfield; three great-grandchildren, Logan and McKinna Raymer of Caneyville and Jack Sanders of Leitchfield and two sisters, Henrietta Collins of Leitchfield and Doris Cruze of Hartford.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Lealin Geary will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rabbit Flat Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
