Wanda Ellen Dillehay Ward, 74, of Hartford passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at her residence. She was born March 12, 1939, in Daviess County, Ky., to the late Luther L. Dillehay and Cora Miller Dillehay.
Mrs. Ward retired from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital and was a member of No Creek United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling to all fifty states, quilting, cross stitching and gospel singings.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Donald L. Ward of Hartford, Ky; five sons, Kin Ward (Liz) of Jasper, Ind., Kevin Ward (Tracy) of Santa Claus, Ind., Treg Ward of Hartford, Ky., Don Ward (Paula) of Hartford, Ky., and Bradley Ward (Cindy) of Beaver Dam, Ky.; 12 grandchildren, Michael Drew, Christopher Drew, Clint Drew, Karissa Nord, Tiffany Whitten, Ashley Ward, Benjamin Whitten, Travis Ward, Levi Ward, Kathryn Ward, Jacob Ward and Bryson Ward; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, O.L. Dillehay (Jean) of Eddyville, Ky., and one sister, Joyce Bivins of Lewisport, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at No Creek United Methodist Church in Hartford, KY with Sister Mary James and Bro. Jesse Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Carson Cemetery in Hartford, Ky. Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
