Dennis V. McCaslin, 66, of 455 West Third Street; Calhoun, Ky., died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at his home. Dennis Verne McCaslin was born Aug. 18, 1947 in Beech Grove, Ky., to James Verne and Zella Katherine McCaslin.
He was the Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Calhoun, custodian for both McLean County Middle School and Calhoun Baptist Church, and a member of the Methodist Faith.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, James Verne McCaslin.
Survivors include his companion of 15 years, Rhonda Guynes of Calhoun; three sons, Steve McCaslin of Calhoun, Daniel McCaslin and wife, Shelly of Hartford, and Eric Cissna of Calhoun; a daughter, Amber Salsman and husband, Tyler of Calhoun; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; his mother, Zella McCaslin of Calhoun; and a brother, Darrell McCaslin and wife, Janie, of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Dennis’ family from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
