Marlin James “Jim” Daugherty

MarlinJimDaughertyMarlin James “Jim” Daugherty, 70, went to be with Jesus Nov. 16, 2013.  He died at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Ky. Jim was born March 27, 1943, in Centertown to the late Woodford “Pop” and Rena May Daugherty.

He married Carolyn Rose Parson Daugherty on July 28, 1962, in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  Jim retired from the coal mining industry after 45 years.

Jim loved old tractors, George Jones, Hank Williams and Duck Dynasty.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Carolyn; three sons and their wives, Tommy (Ronda) Daugherty of Centertown, Ronny (Sherry) Daugherty of Hanson, Marvin (Sharon) Daugherty of Olaton; two daughters Darlene  and Joanna (Eric) Henderson both of Centertown; 12 grandchildren, Holly (Travis) Whalin of Hartford, T.J. of Centertown, Heather of Hanson, Seth of Bowling Green, Rosie of Centertown, Chelsey Henderson of Franklin, Miranda of Olaton, Jonathan of Hanson, Matthew of Olaton, Danielle of Centertown, Brianna Henderson of Centertown and Angelena Henderson of Centertown; two brothers, Roger Daughtery  and Charlie (Ruby) Daugherty  both of Centertown; one sister, Catherine (James) Woods of Centertown.

Funeral services will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Daugherty Family Cemetery near Centertown.  Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
