Wanda Martelle Morris, 83, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Jefferson Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by loved ones. Wanda was born in Renfrow, Ky., to the late Roy and Escola (Davis) Morris.
She was a retired lab technician for the P. Lorillard Tobacco Company where she had over 33 years of service; was a former member of the Sweet Adelines and a member of Eastland Church of Christ. She was a beloved aunt, sister, daughter and friend to all who knew her. Her legacy will be her Christian influence, her ability to laugh and create fun, and her enormous love of family.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as two brothers, Loriece Morris and Paul Morris and also two sisters, Deverrille Morris and Barbara Hurt.
Survivors include her sisters, Pauline Henderson, Laverne Hostetler, and Fonda Vernelle Cook as well as fifteen nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, where visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Central Standard Time, at Fairview Cemetery in Rosine, Ky.
